Kaleb's little crisis!!

Okay so in Kaleb's short life he has been to the ER 3 times! Two of them being in just the last couple of months!! My gosh!! What is up with him!! The people there are starting to recognize me! You see just a couple of months ago, Kaleb stuck his hand into the back of the treadmill and it sucked his little fingers right in! It was awful! He had so much skin taken off that he didn't even bleed, just a whole bunch of fluid was leaking out! About a month later he was doing much better! (And several doses of gauge and ointment!) Then just last Friday he got a little bit sick. We were down in SLC and went inside a res truant. I noticed he seemed a bit warm so when we left we gave him some Tylenol and he slept the whole way home. He seemed just fine at that point. Then Nate drops me off at PT and took the boys to run some errands. Nate was about 10 or 15 minutes late picking me up. I was tempted to call him, but he called me first. He told me to have Sue pick me up and meet him at this gas station because he was going to have Kaleb ride in the ambulance up to the hospital. That is all he would say!! I'm majorly freaking out, having no idea what is going on!! I called Sue three times and with no answer, I frantically walked up to some guy standing by his truck and asked him to give me a ride to a gas station down the road so I could meet up with my baby that was going to the ER. He just looked at me like "what the hell?! So I started to cry and begged, "PLEASE!!" he nodded and I jumped in. A few blocks later Sue calls, I tell her where I am and jump out of the guys truck! He yells "good luck!" and I darted down Washington blvd running towards Sue! Yes I am sure I looked like a crazy lady! But all I can think of is how desperate I was to get to my baby!

On the other end, Nate was on the freeway coming to get me, he looked over his shoulder and saw Kaleb having a seizure. He wasn't even sure if Kaleb was breathing or not. He jumps off the freeway and turned into a gas station where some of his trooper friends were. He ran Kaleb inside where his friends radioed dispatch and he just held his neck to make sure Kaleb was getting air. Once Kaleb stopped the siezure he was out cold for about 15 minutes! During this time, I called and asked if everything was fine. I really thought Nate would say yes. But Nate simply said "No". Oh that was such an awful feeling. Finally when I arrived at the hospital Kaleb was being unloaded and had woken up just barely so I got to see him crying. That was such a HUGE relief! I was fearing the worst.

So all in all Kaleb got a blessing, we had were there for about 5 hours. Kaleb's blood and urine was tested. He was administered oxygen and fluids. He had a chest x-ray. But everything came back fine. The scary part was that we had to make sure that he didn't fever again. Since they believe that a sudden spike in temp. was too blame. His fever was close to 103 but he has had higher fevers that before. Its just because he went from normal to almost 103 way too fast! So they said that it won't be such a big deal if it doesn't occur in the next 24 hours. We have been sleep deprived this weekend, but most grateful for a healthy baby and a very supportive family!

The night before Easter Kaleb was wearing this striped shirt. A week or so later he was wearing it again on the day he was taken to the ER. Look at the before and after pictures of his shirt. We call this his super man shirt!!

Easter bunny left a few eggs with a dollar in them. The kids found all but one (we suppose! I mean why would he leave an odd amount?) Nate and I helped them search for just one more, but we had no such luck!

Skyler and Brayden are WAY into collecting cards. Skyler is mostly interested into basketball and football cards. Brayden is so into WWE! His favorite guy is John Sena (is that how you spell it?!) Kaleb loves pretty much everything but he especially loves to have a soft stuffed animal to keep him warm at night. He carries that bunny around with him (and definitely his Elmo blanky!) The last month or so our family has been really trying to cut back on sugary stuff, and the Bunny knew this. Skyler pointed out that this year The Easter bunny didn't bring hardly any candy! (He had a look in his eye...he keeps insisting he knows there is really no Easter bunny!)

It's been a while since I've updated! I wish I had more time in my day, then I could accomplish so much more!

Nate is almost done with his probation period. I am looking forward to that because then I can go on a ride a long with him and see what his work day is like. (If only he could go a on a ride a long with me ((a stay at home mother!!) When he was hired with North Ogden back in late October, they had planned on hiring two people. But just hired Nate. Then they had budget problems and never hired that second person. We have felt so grateful to even have a job. Just tonight Nate came home and said they are finally hiring that another person. I guess that must be a good sign! Nathan totally loves his job and is very dedicated to it. He is very liked and respected there. His co workers also appreciate his corny sense of humor! LOL! But he is also very professional and he even received a copy of a letter that was sent to the chief by a woman he had dealt with. She expressed her appreciation for Nate's excellent professionalism and kindness etc... It was pretty cool to see him making a difference in someone Else's life!

I started an awesome job back in Jan. I worked with kids that are Skyler's age. I really liked it but after two months I had to quit. It was way to stressful on the rest of the family and didn't even help out financially with the expense of daycare these days! (Although it sucked, I knew it was better for me to be at home raising my family) Now that life has slowed down just a little for me, I am trying to get back into school (it has been two semesters now). But for some reason I am seriously considering changing my major from elm. ed. to nursing. I am 99.5% positive I would absolutely enjoy working in labor and delivery! I just have to get past all those hard classes!! Wish me luck! I will try my best to update everyone! I am extremely grateful for all of my awesome friends and family. I am sorry i don't express that enough!

Skyler is doing well in school. He is even above average in reading! YAY!! He just had tubes put in his ears (for the second time) He missed a whole week of school. He was in a lot of pain but is doing much better now! He is really a great kid. Sometimes driving me crazy as he has developed his dad sarcasm! He is quite the little jokester! I see Nate in him so much, but other days I see myself in him a lot too. He is awesome with Kaleb and most of the time fights with Brayden! LOL they love each other but they do love to fight too!! Oh the joys of motherhood!

Brayden just turned 3! He is so funny! He will say the most off the wall things! One time we were driving and he was pointing out EVERYTHING in sight!! Then he starts freaking out screaming "Geico! Geico! Geico!" We were thinking he was a little weirdo, then we look up and see the dollars with eyes. (The money you could be saving with Geico) Me and Nate just busted up laughing! It was the funniest thing coming from Brayden. He is the sweetest little boys at times and other times a little devil child! But he is quick to say sorry and quick to forgive. I really see this kid growing up to be a sweetheart!

Kaleb is growing up way too fast. (so are Skyler and Brayden) but he is hardly a baby anymore and I kind of miss the baby in him. He is saying quite a few words now. My favorite is his attempt at "I love you"! My second favorite was when he looked outside and saw it snowing he got excited and started yelling, "bubble! Bubble!" So funny! He is such a happy go lucky little boy! Everyone ever babysitting him just loves him. He is really a big hit at the nursery at the gym!

I am so thankful for my awesome family (It is much easier to realize this at the end of the day when the kids are in bed and it is finally quiet!) But I really do have an awesome family and actually rejoice in the fact that we have all boys! I love it!

Nate worked a night shift then right after his shift he volunteered for "shop with a cop" so he was pretty darn tired at the party!

It was fun to see my cousins and aunts and uncles...and not to forget my grandma!!
The weather was so bad that not everyone was able to make it but our family keeps getting bigger so we still filled up grandma's house!

The whole family was sitting in Grandma's living room singing Christmas carols and just as we got to Jingle Bells, we heard some real bells... they were Santa's! He has such good timing!

Kaleb's birthday was Thanksgiving day this year so we did a little family party the Sat. before. I was (and still am)sad to see my last baby turn 1! They just grow up too fast!

If you look closely you will see in the magazine what the cake was supposed to look like! I made two cakes then gave up! So I just hurried and slapped some frosting on the little ones I set aside for Kaleb to eat.

The "presents" were the only thing that actually turned out. I made them out of rice Krispies treats, covered in candy melt with a bow. (The bow was homemade... by me!!)

The boys kept begging Nate to let them ride in his truck!! Finally he decided to just let them get in for a minute and create some noise!! They did quit asking but get extra excited to see other police vehicles!

Brayden doesn't quite understand that his dad only works in once city... not any city we happed to be when a police passes by! He will say, "that's my dad!"

For Halloween Skyler was a ninja, Kaleb was supposed to be a hunter (Although we went trick or treating and forgot his play shot gun and his orange hunter hat!) And Brayden was going to be a cute little puppy! He wore the outfit for about 5 seconds got mad and tore it off! I tried and tried to convince him to put it back on, be he out stubborned me! Finally I got him to wear a batman mask (although I couldn't find the cape that goes with it) but he refused to take his red shorts off! (yes.. shorts!) But that didn't matter anyway because Brayden was tired of that before we even knocked on the first door! So here he is in a yellow coat and red shorts! His costume... himself!!!

For Nate's birthday(yesterday) I attempted to make him a Dallas Cowboys teddy bear. I forgot about needing stuff to make rice crispy treats (needed to make the arms and the football) and I also didn't have any ing. to make fondant. So I had to free hand the writing and the star! Yeah right! So here is the deformed cake! Nate enjoyed eating the head!

Last Tuesday was an awesome day! After extensive interviewing and background clearing on Nate (and on me) the chief and and captain came over to our house and offered Nate a job! Wahoo! We were so excited that we checked Skyler out of school an hour early and went to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate!
